The tour begins with pickups between 6:00 a.m. and 6:30 a.m. at hotels in downtown Arequipa, followed by a three-hour drive to the Salinas y Aguada Blanca National Reserve, with a stop at 7:30 a.m. in the town of Chiguata to buy supplies. Along the way, the route passes by the Misti volcano and the Qeñuales forest before arriving at 10:30 a.m. at Lake Salinas, strategically located between Misti, Ubinas, and the snow-capped Picchu Picchu. At this point, we take an interpretive hike to observe Andean and migratory birds, as well as learn about the local borate mining process, before continuing on to visit the Lojen mini-volcano and the hot springs. We then enjoy lunch and begin our return to the city at 5:00 p.m.
