Pickup will take place between 6:00 and 6:30 a.m. from hotels located in downtown Arequipa or from the meeting point at the Plaza de Armas.

Our trip begins as we take the road toward Yura, enjoying the breathtaking views of the volcanoes surrounding the city. Our first stop will be at Pampa de Arrieros, where we’ll visit its old train station.

Then we will continue on to the Salinas y Aguada Blanca National Reserve, located at approximately 4,000 meters above sea level. Here, we will be able to observe South American camelids such as llamas, alpacas, and vicuñas in their natural habitat.

The next stop will be in Patahuasi, where we recommend drinking a cup of coca, muña, or chachacoma tea to help you acclimate to the altitude.

Next, we will head to the Puruña Stone Forest, located northeast of the city of Arequipa. Here we will take a hike lasting approximately 1 hour and 30 minutes. This unique geological landscape is formed by ignimbrites and volcanic tuffs eroded by wind, rain, and the passage of time, creating stone columns that resemble a mysterious petrified forest formed over hundreds of thousands of years.

We will continue the tour by car to the Carlitos Lookout, where we can see the Misti, Chachani and Pichu Pichu.

We will finally arrive at the town of Pillones, where we will visit the Pillones Waterfall. Upon arrival, we’ll be able to observe the rocks shaped by water erosion and descend to the waterfall. There will be free time to take photos and enjoy the natural scenery.

The return to the city of Arequipa is scheduled for around 5:00 p.m.
